Already from July 1 of this year, the size of the scholarship of the President of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for young scientists will almost double. The relevant resolution was adopted yesterday, on May 15, 2019, during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada.
Thus, the size of the presidential scholarship for young scientists will increase from 2,305.2 UAH per month to 6,621 UAH, and the size of the scholarship of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will increase from 1,921 UAH to 4,014 UAH. Each of these scholarships is appointed for a period of two years.
“Every year, the President and the Verkhovna Rada provide these scholarships to the most talented young scientists to support them, to motivate them for future development. True, in recent years the situation has developed that it was the size of these scholarships that was the smallest among all the awards and scholarships for young scientists in Ukraine. Naturally, this situation had to be changed,” – Liliya Grinevich, the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine said.
