Over the past years, the level of loathing for foreigners has grown significantly among the inhabitants of Poland. This is stated in the study of the Polish Institute of Public Affairs. During this study, the Polish residents’ perception of foreigners was examined in various social roles.

This is reported by Yevropeyskaya pravda (European truth).

The results of the study show that the greatest deterioration occured in relation to the Germans and Ukrainians. The current level is 20% lower than the 2013 indicator.

“Such growth can be explained by the anti-Ukrainian rhetoric of some politicians, as well as the hostility of part of the society to the increased number of Ukrainian citizens on the Polish labor market,” – the authors of the study underlined.

It is noted that the Poles are most loyal to the Italians and the French.

However, the report says, the greatest problems in relations between the Poles and Ukrainians arise when the latter occupy social roles associated with subordination.

“However, the number of Poles who have no issue with Ukrainians in these social roles is bigger than those who express dislike in this regard,” – sociologists noted.
