The size of the minimum wage in European countries is very different. As of January 1 of this year, low (for Europe) minimum wages were in the countries of the eastern part of the continent. The lowest minimum wage in Bulgaria is 261 euros. Citizens of Lithuania, Romania, Hungary and other Eastern European countries earn from 400 to 500 euros.

In the south of Europe, in Greece, Portugal, Slovenia, the minimum wage is from 600 to 900 euros. And the highest minimum wages are for residents of the countries of the northern and western parts of Europe. Their sizes start from 1,400 euros. For example, the minimum wage in Belgium is 1,563 euros, in the Netherlands – 1,578 euros, in Ireland – 1 614 euros.

The highest minimum wage (according to statistics) for many years is in a small European country Luxembourg. According to data at the beginning of 2018, the residents of Luxembourg earned less than 2,000 euros. If you compare all these salaries with prices, for example, on gasoline (see infographics), then you get an interesting picture.

Residents of Germany can buy 1,000 liters of gasoline by their minimum wage, the Poles – more than 400 liters. Russians can buy more than 200 liters of this fuel by their minimum wage, but Ukrainians will not even buy 120 liters, they will not have enough money.
