On May 6, classes began in Ukraine’s first social driving school, which was opened by the Borys Kolesnikov Fund at the vocational training facility of Konstantinovka. The youth of the Donbass got a unique opportunity - to get training for free and get a driver’s license of categories B, A1 and A.
A month and a half, boys and girls aged 17.5–23 years, under the guidance of experienced teachers and instructors, studied the theoretical foundations and practiced driving on modern cars, motorcycles and scooters.
And now the exciting moment has come – state exams in the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Some of the guys were very worried, someone was completely calm and confident in their abilities.
Denis Kuzmenko studied in a group of category B. The guy admits that he was most worried about the practical part of the exam and was very pleased that he had succeeded.
“I already had a driver’s license with open category A, and I have long wanted to learn how to drive a car. Lack of time and finances didn’t allow fulfilling this desire. When I found out that a social driving school was opening in Konstantinovka, I was very happy and hastened to enroll in a group. Learning was a pleasure - new cars, modern classrooms, excellent teachers. And most importantly - it's all for free! I passed the exams and received the long-awaited driver's license. Many thanks to Borys Kolesnikov for giving me the opportunity to fulfill my dream!” – Denis shares his impressions.
The student of the eleventh grade of Ivanopolye School, Tatyana Fedorchenko, shines with happiness: the first time a schoolgirl successfully passed the exams for category A. When asked why the tender girl chose a motorcycle, Tanya shyly answers that she loves speed.
“I’m very pleased with the result. Now I want to continue my studies at a driving school to open another category B. I believe that the youth of the Donbass are very lucky: where else in Ukraine are there free driving schools? Thanks to Borys Kolesnikov for such a wonderful project!” – Tanya says.
Another happy graduate of a driving school is Maxim Belikov. The guy says that there was no disturbance in the exams, he was confident in himself.
“For the first time I got behind the wheel of a scooter in a driving school. It was not difficult to drive two-wheeled vehicles, the main thing is to learn to keep balance. I also learned the theory thoroughly, so I was sure of a successful result in the exams. In general, I am very glad that such a driving school works in our city – this is a real chance for young people to realize themselves in various professions. Indeed, today the presence of a driver’s license is one of the mandatory requirements for employment in many specialties. Studying at a driving school is not cheap, so not all schoolchildren and students could afford it, although they really wanted to. Having opened a social driving school, the Borys Kolesnikov Fund gave young people the opportunity to diversify, for which we’re very grateful!” – Maxim Belikov summed up.
We recall that the President of the Charity Fund - Borys Kolesnikov - solemnly opened a driving school in Konstantinovka on April 16. The educational institution is equipped with modern classrooms, equipment and a fleet of vehicles.
“This is the first school in Ukraine with a social bias. Our goal is to give young people the chance to diversify. Now the situation in the Donbass is not the easiest one, so I want to help young people save on training, because the country does not give such a high salary as we would like. The main thing for us is for the guys to become qualified drivers,” – Borys Kolesnikov emphasized during the opening of the driving school.
