During the study of sea water, the E. coli was detected on the central beach of Mariupol in the area of the hotel “Tourist”. This was reported by the Mariupol city branch of the Donetsk Regional Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine.
In samples of sea water selected on July 30 from this beach, the detected amount of lactose-positive Bacillus coli per 1 dm3 exceeds the permissible norms by almost five times. Vacationers were advised to limit bathing on the beach with unstable bacteriological indicators.
“In all the samples of coliphages, pathogenic microflora, including cholera vibrios were not detected,” – the report says.
According to the results of the epidemiological examination of center of enteric infections in the period from July 20 to 26, from the 73 cases of acute enteric infections, 10 people are attributed to infection with swimming in the sea, the laboratory said.
