Arthur Martovitsky, the MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC, stressed that the state should take care of veterans who have defended Ukraine in a terrible war with Nazism. However, the current government is stepping back from solving their immediate problems.

He noted that today 34 participants in the hostilities of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 live in Pavlograd, and 54 in the whole of Western Donbass. Until May 9, the opposition will visit and congratulate each of them.

“Every meeting with veterans of the Second World War is special for me. By tradition, on the eve of the Great Victory Day, my team and I come to visit them with gifts, flowers and gratitude. It is a great honor for us. I am glad to see that the veterans are waiting for our arrival, they meet us with a smile, eagerly communicate and share memories of that terrible war,” – Arthur Martovitsky said.

In addition, the MP stressed that veterans also talk during meetings about urgent problems that they face day after day.

“Two of them, for example, said that they spend most of their pensions on caretakers, without whom they can’t do without. They ask that this amount be compensated from the state budget. After all, there is almost no money left for food and medicine. I will address this issue and will do my best to help them. I believe that people who risked their lives and health for the sake of our peaceful future deserve a decent old age and a special relationship from the state! Low bow to all veterans of the Second World War! And to those who died at the front and departed to another world – an eternal memory!” – the opposition politician summed up.
