By the decree of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, Victor Muzhenko was dismissed from the post of Chief of the General Staff - Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is stated in the Zelensky’s decree dated May 21.
By another decree, Ruslan Homchak was appointed to this position.
Earlier, Homchak served as First Deputy Commander of the Land Forces of Ukraine, commander of the operational command "South".
By the decree dated May 20, 2014 of the Acting President of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov Muzhenko was appointed first deputy head of the Anti-Terrorist Center under the SSU. On July 3, 2014, by decree of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Muzhenko was appointed Chief of General Staff - Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
