One million dollars for the construction of a waste sorting line will be received by the Liman community within the framework of the USAID Economic Support for Eastern Ukraine Project.

So, on May 20, Liman’s Mayor Petro Tsimidan, Project Manager Michael Pillsbury and Acting Director of the enterprise “Limanskiy Zelenstroy” Vladimir Samoilov signed a Memorandum on Cooperation, Ostrov reports.

One of the priority areas of work will be to ensure the reconstruction and creation of new facilities that affect economic development. In particular, the construction of a sorting line to service the landfill of solid municipal waste (SMW) outside the settlements in the Liman community is envisaged.

“Today, we estimate the construction of the waste sorting line at one million dollars. In addition to financial support, the USAID project will provide technical assistance in the development of design estimates and construction work,” – Michael Pillsbury said.

As part of the partnership, it is planned to stabilize the local economy, restore infrastructure facilities, develop small and medium enterprises, and the like.
