The report of the Special Monitoring Mission refers to the death caused by the fragmentation wounds of a civilian in a village in the Donetsk region.
A resident of Chermalyk told monitors that on the evening of July 11 he went to visit one of his neighbors living on Kalmiuskaya Street, after hearing shelling in the area. He added that when he came to his house, he saw medical workers who were carrying his neighbor into an ambulance car.
On July 15, the morgue staff in Mariupol reported that the body of a 49-year-old man living on Kalmiuskaya Street in Chermalyk, with fragmental wounds to the head, legs and body, was brought to them. The wounds were fatal.
On Kalmiuskaya Street, the mission team saw a barn that lacked part of the wall, as well as bricks and debris on the ground. At about 5 meters from the barn, members of the SMM patrol saw 6 broken windows and traces of fragments falling on the window frames and walls of a one-story house. They also saw a blood stain on the ground at the entrance to the house. It was not possible to establish the type of weapons used and the direction of fire.
