The solemn transfer of designer forged sculptures to the community of Mariupol, Sartana and Mangush took place at the large-scale art festival of the Azov region “Prostir Mriy”, Ostro reports, citing the press service of the City Council of Mariupol.
Ten sculptures were created according to the sketches of children together with blacksmiths from different cities of Ukraine. For about a month, the masters, under the strict guidance of young artists, brought their ideas to life. At the presentation, creative tandems presented their works. Six of them were transferred to Mariupol. After determining their future location, the sculptures will decorate the park areas of the city.
Deputy mayor Sergei Zakharov thanked artists of the pen and metal for such wonderful gifts: “Thank you for your diligence in creating such stunning sculptures. Combining children's drawings and the work of a blacksmith is not an easy task, but you coped with it perfectly.”
The festival guests were waiting for a bright festive program. Those who wish could take part in the collective painting of a giant metal sculpture - “bird-fish”. An exhibition of paintings was held at the Aquarelles indoor venue. Works of different artistic directions, paintings by young artists and even drawings of children were presented.
Master classes in pottery and blacksmithing were also organized. Those interested could personally forge a heart of metal or mold a ceramic pot. Fans of extreme sports could try themselves in archery and throwing knives. For children, improvised medieval battles took place. Creative groups of city centers of extracurricular activities performed with a non-stop concert program.
