For the past five years, politicians in power have been talking non-stop about the security and defense of our country. However, the military-industrial complex of Ukraine is still in decline. So, one of the most important military plants of Ukraine - Konstantinovsky "Kvarsit" - has a salary arrears for 31 months. And the key task now is to strengthen the material base of the Ukrainian defense, the prime minister of the opposition government, Borys Kolesnikov, said.
“30 years ago, the military-industrial complex of Ukraine was the pride of our country. There were the best engineering personnel, the best scientists and the best factories. What is happening to it now is a shame. We all pay a military levy, the budget allocates $ 6 billion for the defense industry. Now it is time to ask the authorities where this money is,” – the politician emphasized.
He noted that he had driven all the east of Ukraine, but he never saw modern military equipment from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. “All military equipment is of Soviet production. It is not modernized, but even not painted! This is a real shame. The conditions for service? This is a double shame,” – the opposition prime minister stressed and added that the key task of the authorities now is to strengthen the material base of the Ukrainian defense.
