At the end of last week in the Donetsk region, the diagnosis of "measles" was confirmed among 60 people.

The information about this was published by the press service of the Department of Health Protection of the Regional State Administration.

“Over the 20th week, 60 measles cases were registered: 1 case in Dobropolye, Selidovo, Toretsk, Volnovakha, Mariinsky and Slavyansky districts, 2 cases in Druzhkovka, 3 cases in Konstantinovka and Konstantinovsky district, Slavyansk, Mariupol, 5 cases – in Bakhmut and Bakhmutsky district, 6 cases – in Pokrovsky district,” – the report says.

It is specified that the largest number of new cases of the disease was recorded in Kramatorsk – 32 cases. There are no severe conditions among patients.

In order to stabilize the epidemic situation, plans have been drawn up to localize and eliminate the foci of the disease.

The total number of cases in Bakhmut was 45 people, 5 of them are children.

We recall that a week ago, the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine lifted the age limit on free measles vaccination. Adults of any age can now also be vaccinated for free against measles, mumps and rubella by the MMR vaccine. You can also vaccinate babies as young as 6 months old, for whom measles is especially dangerous. Such changes were made by the Order of the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine No. 958 dated April 23, 2019, registered in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine dated April 25, 201 No. 442/33413.
