Ukrainians will be vaccinated against measles for free

For the immune development only one vaccine is necessary.

The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine decided to lift the age limit on compulsory vaccination.

“Adults of any age can now also be vaccinated against measles, mumps and rubella by the MMR vaccine for free. It is also possible to vaccinate children as young as 6 months old, for whom measles is particularly dangerous,” – the message says.

As noted, the relevant changes have already been made to the order of the Ministry of Healthcare No. 958 of April 23, 2019.

“Until now, adults under the age of 30 who have been in contact with patients and people from professional risk groups (doctors, teachers, military, students) could be vaccinated against measles for free. However, the number of patients with measles among the adult population is constantly growing. Now adults of any age can get vaccinated against measles,” – the Ministry explained.

Now, vaccination at the legislative level is guaranteed to all adults who:

- came into contact with patients;

- did not have measles and were not vaccinated before (this is indicated in the medical record);

- According to the results of a special analysis, they do not have immunity against measles.
