Trump urged Germany, France and Spain to increase defense spending

Trump stressed that the US spending is disproportionately bigger than the contributions of all other NATO members.

Trump finds it unfair that the US spending on NATO is the biggest in the alliance

Donald Trump, the President of the United States of America, once again called on partners in the North Atlantic alliance – Germany, France and Spain – to increase defense spending.

That was reported by the press service of the White House.

“NATO is very interesting; we will see what will happen there. Germany should spend more money, like Spain and France. It's not fair how they treat the US,” – the US President emphasized.

He also added that the US spending was much bigger than the contributions of all other members of the alliance.

Earlier it was reported that German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that the state would not be able to achieve its goal of bringing the defense budget to 2% of GDP by 2024. So, Donald Trump, the US President, said that Germany had not fund NATO enough.
