Today, on Monday, March 19, an updated version of the rating of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) was published. As in the previous register, Ukraine has four representatives in the first hundred.
The status of the first racket of our country is confidently retained by Elina Svitolina. The native of Odessa, which had reached the third round of the tournament in Indian Wells last week, took the fourth line of the rating.
Lesia Tsurenko and Katerina Kozlova lost one position and now take 41st and 63rd places respectively. But Katerina Bondarenko slightly improved her results and climb from the 74th line to the 73rd one.
We also note the significant progress of Marta Kostyuk who reached the final of the Zhuhai and the semi-final in Shenzhen in two weeks. This allowed the 15-year-old tennis player to climb to 33 positions - from 185th to 152nd and become the fifth racket of Ukraine. Kostyuk leapfrogged her compatriots Dayana Yastremska and Angelina Kalinina in the rating.
There was only one reshuffle in the first ten. Jeļena Ostapenko climbs to the 5th place, displacing Karolina Pliskova on the 6th place. Simona Halep continues to hold the leadership. Caroline Wozniacki is the second, and Garbiñe Muguruza is the third.
