NBU can allow the purchase of currency online

Since February, Ukrainians may be allowed to buy currency through the Internet.

The NBU is preparing some changes, which are aimed at liberalization of the Ukrainian foreign exchange market. This was announced during the presentation of the new structure by Oleg Chury, the deputy head of the NBU.

The first step in liberalization involves allowing the population to purchase online currency in the amount of up to the equivalent of 150 thousand UAH per day. Supervision of currency transactions within the limits of 150 thousand UAH will also be canceled. In the future, the limit is planned to be increased to 300 thousand UAH.

The dead line of calculations for foreign economic contracts can also be increased from 180 to 365 days.

All changes are planned for February 7, 2019. It is then that the law "On Currency and Currency Operations", which was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada in June, should come into force.

Representatives of the National Bank also state that, unlike the existing base, which is rather confusing, the new base will be very simple, accessible and understandable.
