A local resident applied to the police station's front office of Mirnograd with a statement about the theft of his laptop. Law enforcers took a little time to establish identity of the criminal and detain him.
The night “guest” was a 17-year-old boy. It was not the first criminal experience for him. At the time of the theft, the young man was awaiting a court decision on his previous offense.
The guy wanted to sell the stolen things, but the police hampered him. The laptop was seized as evidence, after which it will be returned to the rightful owner.
The plotter explained that when he had returned home at night, he saw an open window in someone else's apartment. There was an idea to get inside. The thief carried out the plan quickly and without hindrance.
While the owners were busy with their own affairs in the neighboring rooms, he intruded into the house through the window, grabbed the laptop, which lay in a prominent place, and fled.
Criminal proceedings were opened under the part 3 of Art. 185 “Theft” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 3 to 6 years.
