A memorandum of cooperation with the Worldwide Network of Port Cities was signed by the mayor of Mariupol, Vadim Boychenko, during the Future by the Sea forum on July 17. This message was made by the press service of the City Council of Mariupol.
Mariupol became the first Ukrainian city to conclude an agreement with French partners. The signing of the memorandum will improve the position of Ukraine in the development of port cities.
“The advantage of port cities is the sea. That it is the point of economic growth in Ukraine. Behind it are international investment and resource replenishment budgets. I believe that a strong future is behind the development of the maritime infrastructure of Ukraine,” – the mayor of Mariupol, Vadim Boychenko, said.
Ermeline Delepów, Worldwide Port City Networks Communications and Marketing Manager, said that the Worldwide Network of Port Cities includes 49 countries.
“The Worldwide Network of Port Cities is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that provides ample opportunities for the implementation of strategies. In our opinion, port cities around the world have identical problems and challenges that they have to face,” – she said.
