Borys KOLESNIKOV: “The task of the new parliament is to restore public confidence in the banking system”

Opposition Prime Minister Borys Kolesnikov knows how to lower the price of gas.

The company for the manufacture of gas stoves "Greta" is one of the city-forming in Druzhkovka. Products are sold not only in Ukraine, but also in Europe. The average salary of employees is more than eight thousand UAH. But, according to the Prime Minister of the opposition government, Borys Kolesnikov, it could be even higher if the government changed its attitude to credit policy.

Borys Viktorovich voiced this conviction at a meeting with employees of the company. According to him, the Cabinet of Ministers could oblige financial institutions to give loans to enterprises for the development of production at lower interest rates. For example, in many European countries, they are given at 5-6 percent per annum. And in Ukraine, less than 20% of annual interest will not be given a loan today.

And the reason is not only in the banks themselves, but also in the fact that the population has lost confidence in them, the politician believes. Thirty or more years ago, many Ukrainians invested their savings in the state Sberbank. And in the early nineties, these savings depreciated. Therefore, today many citizens keep some money, figuratively speaking, “under the pillow”. And this, according to Borys Kolesnikov, is billions of UAH.

If the citizens take them to the bank – and the institution, having such large sums in the assets, perhaps, could give loans at lower interest rates to both enterprises and citizens. But for this, the opposition leader stressed, the state should regain confidence in the banking system, providing state guarantees for the return of deposits.

Above this, we will have to work on the new composition of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, as well as on reducing gas tariffs. There are all possibilities for this, the opposition prime minister explains. For example, use your own gas production. It can be sold to the public three times cheaper than today, almost at cost.

Borys Kolesnikov also shared with residents of Druzhkovka the plans for the improvement of their city and the development of a network of institutions of vocational education and sports facilities.
