The next wave of photos of the city in smoke caused a lot of discussions in social networks, and the approaching City Day, at which mass celebrations with the participation of pop stars and announced shows are planned, only heat up the indignation of Mariupol activists.
One of the first appeals to gather for a flash mob in masks on the celebration of the 240th anniversary of Mariupol was the post in the group “For ecologically clean Mariupol”.
There, the administrator urged the citizens to invite Ostap Semerak, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, to the 240th anniversary of Mariupol.
So, after a short discussion on the Facebook, an event called “Mariupol wants to breathe” was created.
“At 10:00 AM gather at the square near the Drama Theater. Come in masks, respirators, gas masks. And just celebrate the City Day like this. Let's remind the officials of Mariupol about the main problem of our city!” – the description of the event says.
